Rip Off

This is is a sloppy mindless rip off of iA Writer.

Do not confuse this with iA Writer

This will not sync with iAWriter on iOS. Dont waste your money!

This is one of many apps for simple writing. I bought it because it was on sale. It does everything that i need it to. Very simple and straight forward. Just write!

Well put together

Just enough features to get thoughts out of your head and on the screen without being bothered or distracted by all the "buttons".

I was looking for something to help me with writing class this semester and I found iwriter. No tools bars to distract me from thinking straight. Clean and simple.

Because of the pictures under the app description, I thought the app would be full screen. IT ISNT. Because of all the tabs and bars on the sides of my screen, it is just as distracting to write on this app as it is on Microsoft Word. iWriter is not worth it.

Couldnt be easier

Exactly as described. No fluff and no clutter. Just a box for your thoughts.

Logo says it all

Its like a digital type writer. Blank paper thats thirsty for words.

Highly recommend it

This is a great product! Full screen is ideal in creating a writers space free of icons, bars and whatever else you have sitting on your screen.

I purchased iWriter mostly on a whim, while looking for a word processing application. Definitely one of the best things Ive ever bought for under $5. Its a simple application, maybe even too simple for some people; it doesnt enable things like italics, bolding, font changes or even type size changes (if you enlarge the text, the entire work enlarges with it). The different page templates are lovely, and I cant really complain about the lack of font-flexability, as Im fan of typewriters. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the application also keeps track of how many characters, words and paragraphs you have in a file, an invaluable bonus for those of us who have specific word goals to meet. All in all, this application does exactly what it says. Its simple, but useful, and Im very pleased with my purchase.

To the creators: well put app. It is just what I need for a reasonable price. Id like if thered be an option to include spellcheck. Other than that, great tool to my collection.

Good, but needs spell checker

I really like this app for my MacBook Pro, but I would like an option to include OS X spell checker. Could you add that option please? Thanks.

Note that this app is called iWriter, very similar in name and design to the popular iA Writer. Intentional? Possibly. Appears to be a decent app on its own (but without the iCloud support) However, the similarity to iA Writer is disturbing and possibly intended to be deceptive.

No Spell Check…what the heck?

There is no spell check…and I cannot find how to print the document? I had to copy and paste it to another program?

I wanted an app that gave me a blank white page for writing. iWriter provides this capability perfectly. When you go full screen, there’s nothing on the screen to distract you as you put words on the page. It does feel like you’re using a typewriter, but without all of the drawbacks of typewriters of old, like needing to use a special ribbon or correction fluid to wipe out typos. It even uses a typewriter-esque font. If all you’re looking for is a blank piece of paper for you to type on, this is your application. If you are looking for a cheap general word processor, keep looking since this program doesn’t have — and doesn’t need — all of the features of Pages or Word.

Not able to print my work.

Can someone tell me why I can’t pring what I write on this!!!

Overall a nice small tool to write stuff and stay focused. But, for a minimalist app, it could have much more features :) The interface should stay minimal, and have great features behind. Fullscreen is one that’s really missing. I’d like to be able to change the font, and change the margins. Would like to put it full screen but have the text take only half the app. Also, the gear icon top right isn’t Retina-ready. Needs a more recent update.

The typing experience is fine, and there is a full screen option, but there seems to be no option to send what you have typed to a printer. There is no File>Print option, and Command P does not work. You have the option to Export as rtf or html, and I suppose that you could import into another application and print from there, but, gee…. Am I missing something? Until so proved, I am not too crazy about this app.

The app is alright for jotting down quick notes to remember for later. I feel like I would like it more if it added Type Writer sound effects! Please do that!
